Beathan Farms is a small farm focused on organically grown cut flowers and sustainably raised meat.
So why the name Beathan, if our last name is McBee? The McBee name came from the Scottish clan McBean, which is derived from the Scottish Gaelic term Beathan, which means "life".
Our names are Josh and Katie and we live on a small farm in Aurora, Oregon. We officially started the farm in 2017. We always knew that we wanted to raise animals for meat and utilize the fertile Willamette Valley soil to grow something beautiful. So we spent that first 2 years selecting good breeding stock and growing many different test varieties of cut flowers. On top of all that we remodeled a 1911 home that took nearly a year and half. We love our small farm.
We have a small barn that is currently being used to house our piglets, lambs, and give cover for the larger sheep and pigs. For the rest of the year all the animals are out on pasture all day because we use an intensive rotational grazing system to move them to fresh pasture every few days.
